To troubleshoot for a frozen / stopped watch, follow the below steps.
Plug your watch into your computer or working USB power outlet for two hours. Make sure the computer USB port is delivering power. Attempt to connect to Rip Curl Search Connect desktop application to troubleshoot.
If you can operate the buttons, navigate to SETTINGS > SYSTEM RESET.
